Coming Soon: Episode 2

Episode 2: The Repetition of History -- Repression and Resilience in Prison Cultural Awareness Groups

In this episode, we take a look at one of the primary ways that folks on the inside of Washington state prisons have to rehabilitate themselves. Since the Department of Corrections consistently undermines these efforts for real change and only looks to provide broken down ways at an attempt of rehabilitation, the cultural awareness groups within the WDOC have consistently taken steps to not only rehabilitate, but educate the general population, while at the same time provide the necessary resources to have significant opportunity to be a successful community member upon release. On this episode we are also given impactful testimonies by AZ, Jimmee Chea, and Christopher Blackwell. They each provide an insightful account of the impact that these groups have had in their own lives as well as how they have seen these things impact those around them. So, thanks for listening in and please share these CHOICES with your community.
