Native Garden

at Washington Corrections Center

Tribal Sons is a Native American Group located at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, Washington. This Indigenous Circle is comprised of various members and descendants from Tribes across the nation. We promote wellness and rehabilitation of our people through healing with Indigenous ceremonies and traditions long held by our ancestors. We are working with local tribes, HUY, the Sustainable Prison Project, Evergreen Community College and the Washington Department of Corrections.

We ask you to join in our efforts and support promoting the healing and rehabilitation of our Indigenous people by scheduling tours of donating to this program, which allows our Indigenous people to come home.

  • Planting harmony

An incarcerated contributor to the garden was recently quoted in a King 5 article regarding his experience of the healing powers of the medicine garden: “This is harmony, this is peace, this is serenity,” he said. “This is healing, this is restoration, this is rehabilitation.”
